Job Summary
Auto Van Support are opening a new MOT Centre in Evesham. Our new centre will be designed to accommodate up to Class 7 MOTs and carry out full repairs within our 3 bay workshops.
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester/Mechanic to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests, diagnosing vehicle issues, and performing repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety and environmental standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and a passion for vehicle maintenance. The position is fully paid and requires a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a professional environment.
Duties
- Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal requirements and manufacturer specifications
- Diagnose mechanical faults using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including brakes, suspension, engines, and exhausts
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to carry out repairs and servicing tasks
- Assist in heavy lifting of vehicle parts or components as needed, adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and services performed
- Ensure all work is completed within designated timeframes while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
- Keep the work area clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Experience
- Proven experience as a mechanic or MOT tester with relevant qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge of various vehicle makes and models
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment used in vehicle repair
- Experience using hand tools and power tools effectively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards
- Previous experience conducting MOT tests is highly desirable but not essential if willing to undertake training

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
