GB DAF is expanding – and we're looking for experienced HGV Truck Technicians to join our new state-of-the-art DAF Dealership at DIRFT.

Excellent Pay
For our standard two-week rotational shift system, you will start on:
£25.00 per hour, increasing to £27.50 per hour depending on your training level and qualifications.
For technicians who join our rotational DAF aid call-out team, the rates increase to:
£27.00 per hour to start, increasing to £29.50 per hour depending on your training level and qualifications, together with added standby and call out payments.
This provides a basic earnings of between £60,000–£70,000+ per year, depending on experience, qualifications and additional call-out work.
Our Shift Pattern
We operate a straightforward two-week rotational shift system:
Week 1
Monday–Friday: 06:00–14:30
Week 2
Monday–Friday: 14:00–22:30
Saturday: 07:00–13:00
The Role
As an HGV Truck Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of commercial vehicles, ensuring they are safe, reliable and maintained to the highest possible standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine inspections, servicing, maintenance and repairs on all makes of HGVs and trailers.
- Completing defect repairs, from replacing bulbs and components through to brake discs, pads and more complex repairs.
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs using the latest manufacturer diagnostic systems and specialist tooling.
- Working to DVSA standards and ensuring vehicles are maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition.
- Completing job cards, service sheets and associated paperwork accurately and within required timescales.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure vehicles are repaired efficiently and returned to customers safely and on time.
- Maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, safety and housekeeping.
What We're Looking For
Ideally, you will be a time-served HGV Vehicle Technician with recognised qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ or BTEC.
Most importantly, you will have:
- Strong HGV maintenance and repair experience.
- Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- A genuine passion for commercial vehicles.
- High standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to doing the job properly – Quality, Quality, Quality.
DAF experience would be advantageous, but we're also interested in hearing from experienced HGV Technicians from other manufacturers and backgrounds.
