HR Deputy Manager
Kinver - although there will be a requirement at times, to travel to our other homes.
9am – 5pm Monday to Friday - although this can vary at times depending on the needs of the business.
Edge View Homes is a growing organisation which currently operates eight homes across the West Midlands. With over 300 employees the HR Team plays a crucial role in supporting the smooth running of day-to-day People Operations across the business. In order to support continued organisational growth and to strengthen the HR function, we are looking to recruit an experienced HR Deputy Manager who will contribute across the full employee lifecycle, supporting both routine HR activity and more sensitive employee relations matters.
THE ROLE
Responsible for delivering a professional customer-focussed HR service to the business in-line with legislative and regulatory requirements and HR best practice.
Key Responsibilities
HR
- Build partnering relationships with managers to assist them in dealing with colleague and performance management issues ensuring consistency and compliance across the business.
- Manage employee relations caseload including disciplinaries, grievances, and absence management.
- Provide business-focussed advice across the colleague life-cycle in-line with policies and procedures and HR best practice.
- To keep abreast of developments in employment legislation, regulatory requirements and changes in HR best practice.
- Assist Head of HR with reviewing and developing HR policies and procedures.
- Contribute and support the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices.
RECRUITMENT & ONBOARDING
- Assist in recruitment processes.
- Coordinate safer recruitment practices in accordance with CQC regulations.
- Proactively seek new ways to attract candidates, attend recruitment events, work collaboratively with external bodies/organisations to increase the talent pool.
- Give guidance and support to managers regarding the recruitment process including reviewing job descriptions and developing adverts to attract suitable candidates.
- Ensure all right-to-work and visa requirements are correctly completed and maintained in-line with Home Office regulations.
- Manage overseas recruitment processes including Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) and visa compliance.
- Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, and on-boarding documentation.
- Process DBS applications, employment references and identity verification.
- Manage onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transitional candidate experience.
PAYROLL
- Learn payroll process (Sage Payroll) for annual leave cover.
HR ADMIN
- Maintain accurate individual employee records and ensure their safekeeping in-line with GDPR best practice.
- Assist in maintaining and improving HR systems and processes for accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and publish a quarterly newsletter to update staff on Edge View Homes’ news and nominations for Above and Beyond awards.
Role Requirements
Essential
- CIPD Level 3
- Experience in recruitment, preferably in a similar sector.
- Familiarity with UK employment law and HR compliance requirements.
- Strong experience with HR administration across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and recruitment coordination.
- Experience of handling employee relations caseload.
- An understanding of employment law and Right to Work regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office 365.
- Discretion and ability to handle sensitive information with integrity.
Desirable
- CIPD Level 5 or willing to work towards.
- Experience of Sage Payroll.
- Experience of using Recruitment Software
- Knowledge or experience in Sponsorship and UKVI requirements.
