This post is going to be working with children and young adults who will be classed as
vulnerable. There will be a high degree of contact with the vulnerable residents and is

Role purpose
To care for all Young people and Children within the residential home and ensure that they are always safe, well cared for and that you are working collaboratively with these young people/children to achieve their goals.
To support these individuals with their care and development needs, helping them to progress towards a more independent and well-rounded life.
Main Duties
· Undertake all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Job Description of ‘Support Worker’
· Undertake all duties and responsibilities in accordance with: company policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, standards; good professional practice, Ofsted and other regulatory requirements, relevant legislations, all legal and contractual obligations.
· Supporting new staff members.
· New Staff Members to ‘shadow’ to learn best practice.
· Petty Cash Management
· Health and Safety Management
· Be a part of the interview panel for the recruitment of Support Workers.
· Conduct Probations and Supervisions of Support Workers.
· General support to Management with administration tasks.
· Inducting new staff members.
· Assisting with PRICE implementation/ training.
· Rota creation · Be on call, at least one weekend, per month (on a rota basis).
Health and Safety
-To be familiar with Health and Safety Regulations, policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to withing your own area of responsibility.
-To be aware of and follow fire policies and procedures, ensuring safety of residents and workers safety and welfare at all times.

Essential
Qualifications:
-NVQ Level 3 qualification in health and social care or equivalent (or willing to acquire)
-PRICE
Experience:
-Currently work in a care home and be aware of the procedures and protocols in place
-Experience working with those with SEN (Special educational needs)
-Experience working with those with extremely challenging behaviours.
Knowledge & Understanding:
-Understand that the care home users will always take priority over anything else whilst also recognising and completing essential tasks at the same time.
-That all behaviour is communication.
-Systems and protocols for Health and Safety management/ expectation (or willingness to learn)
Abilities & Skills:
-Good communication skills
-Passionate about working with those who have challenging behaviour
-Strong active listening skills
-Good organisational and time management skills
-Capacity to handle intensive and pressurised situations.
-Ability to prioritise workload accordingly and within desired deadlines.

-Degree that relates to children/ young people
-Safeguarding, Level 2 qualification

Experience:
-Worked with children from the age of 11-18

-Aware and confident to undertake lone-working safely and effectively.
Abilities & Skills:
-Good verbal and written communication skills
-Competent user of Microsoft office programmes; Word, Outlook and Excel
Other:
Hold a UK Driving licence and be willing to get business insurance.
