Arthur’s House is working on behalf of a warm, welcoming family to recruit an experienced, career Live-In Nanny for a long-term position at a private country residence in Hungerford, Wiltshire (approx. 50 minutes from London).
This is a rare opportunity to join a fully staffed household, where you can focus on providing exceptional childcare and supporting the early development of a delightful one-year-old. The successful candidate will be professional, discreet, and confident working as part of a wider household team.

- Schedule: 5 days per week with 2 consecutive days off (flexibility required)
- Salary: £70k gross per annum (dependent on experience)
- Accommodation: Private, separate two-bedroom apartment on the estate
- Travel: Regular UK and international travel opportunities

The Role
Working on behalf of the family, we are seeking a nanny who can provide calm, confident, and developmentally focused care within a dynamic household environment. You will take full responsibility for the child’s day-to-day routine and nursery-related duties, while collaborating closely with the parents and household staff to ensure family life runs smoothly.
The family values a nanny who is naturally proactive and intuitive—someone who can anticipate needs, plan engaging days, and maintain excellent standards without needing heavy direction.
Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding, loving care for a happy one-year-old, supporting day-to-day routines and wellbeing
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support early learning and developmental milestones
- Encourage good manners, independence, and positive behaviour in line with the parents’ wishes
- Maintain impeccable nursery standards including:
- child’s laundry and wardrobe management
- nursery organisation and toy rotation
- preparing healthy meals/snacks for the child (as appropriate)
- keeping the child’s areas clean, safe, and well presented
- Work closely with first-time parents, offering reassurance and guidance where appropriate, while respecting boundaries and the family’s preferred approach
- Travel with the family (UK and internationally), ensuring continuity of care and a seamless routine
- Provide flexibility around the family’s lifestyle, including occasional overnight care when required
