Overview
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Finance & Administration Officer to join our friendly and busy team based in Nether Stowey.
This is a full-time, office-based position, offering 40 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday, where you will play a key role in supporting both our finance and administrative functions. The role offers plenty of variety, combining day-to-day financial administration with general office support to help ensure the smooth running of the business.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in producing accurate work, and can confidently manage multiple priorities. You'll be equally comfortable working independently and as part of a supportive team.

What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing accounts payable and receivable using Xero
- Processing financial transactions accurately and efficiently
- Reconciling bank accounts, petty cash and company credit cards
- Managing the sales ledger, issuing statements and following up outstanding payments
- Providing a wide range of administrative support to the management team
- Preparing customer quotations
- Maintaining accurate records using our Access database
- Answering telephone and email enquiries professionally
- Taking booking enquiries and gathering relevant information to assist with job scheduling
- Supporting job scheduling and bookings
- Typing certificates and log books
- Ordering office and operational supplies
- Managing company vehicle administration, including MOTs, servicing, road tax and key control
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- At least 5 years' experience in a finance and administration role
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero (preferred), Sage, QuickBooks or similar
- Excellent attention to detail with strong data entry accuracy
- Experience managing sales and purchase ledgers
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping and finance administration processes
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive approach with a willingness to help wherever needed
Desirable
It would be an advantage if you also have:
- Experience using Microsoft Access databases
- Experience working in a service, engineering or trade-based business
- Experience coordinating work schedules or bookings
