Overview
We are seeking a proactive and versatile Handyman / General Builder who is also happy carrying out local deliveries to join our small friendly team. This role offers an exciting opportunity with an interesting and varied workload which combines practical building and maintenance skills with delivery responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills to coordinate tasks efficiently and deliver great service. You’ll play an important role in maintaining the functionality of our facilities while supporting logistical needs through timely deliveries.
The role will primarily be based at out Holmwood location, but will involve some deliveries from Cranleigh and help with our imminent showroom project at Cranleigh. You will need own transport for both our locations as neither is easy for reliable public transport.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance, repairs, and building tasks, including carpentry, minor plumbing, minor electrical work, painting and roofing - a real mix! It also involves regular upkeep of the external areas - mowing, strimming and keeping the outside area in good repair.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Carry out deliveries to customer homes in the local area using our tail-lift van. ( Delivering Fireplaces, Stoves and Furniture to customers.
- Operate commercial vehicles adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Communicate clearly with team members and clients to coordinate delivery times and address any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and deliveries etc.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a handyman or general builder with a strong practical understanding of building maintenance.
- Delivery driver experience with a valid driver’s license and aged 25 or older for insurance purposes.
- Warehouse/Delivery experience or familiarity with logistics operations is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physical tasks regularly.
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with team members and clients.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. A self starter that can look around and see what needs doing in terms of maintenance tasks.
- A friendly, proactive attitude with the motivation to complete tasks accurately and on time.

Pay: £12.71-£18.00 per hour
