About the Role
The Ellis Lake Foundation has recently opened its new office, marking an exciting new chapter for our charity. As we continue to grow and expand the support we provide to families of seriously ill children, we're looking for a creative and enthusiastic Website Designer / Manager Volunteer to help develop and maintain our online presence.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your web design and digital skills to make a real difference. You'll help ensure our website remains engaging, informative and easy to use, while supporting fundraising campaigns, volunteer recruitment, events and awareness of the Foundation's work.
Whether you're an experienced web designer, a digital professional, or someone looking to build your portfolio, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Maintaining and updating the Ellis Lake Foundation website.
- Creating new pages for campaigns, fundraising events and projects.
- Improving the user experience and website navigation.
- Uploading news articles, blogs and Foundation updates.
- Supporting online fundraising and donation pages.
- Ensuring website content is accurate, engaging and up to date.
- Assisting with search engine optimisation (SEO) and website performance.
- Working alongside trustees to develop new digital features and resources.
- Helping ensure the website is accessible and inclusive for all users.
What We're Looking For
- An interest in website design, development or digital marketing.
- Experience with website platforms such as Shopify, WordPress or similar (desirable but not essential).
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Creative with an eye for design and user experience.
- Comfortable working independently and managing tasks.
- A passion for supporting families of seriously ill children.
- Knowledge of SEO, accessibility or graphic design would be an advantage but is not essential.

About the Ellis Lake Foundation
The Ellis Lake Foundation supports families of seriously ill children by providing practical support when it's needed most. Our hospital hygiene packs help parents and carers who unexpectedly find themselves staying with their child in hospital, ensuring they have access to essential everyday items without the added worry or expense. Through fundraising, partnerships and digital engagement, we continue to expand our reach and develop new projects that make a meaningful difference to families across the UK.
