The Role
The University of Worcester is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated University Apprenticeship Manager to play a key role in the continued growth and success of our apprenticeship provision.
Since launching degree apprenticeships in 2018, the University has developed a diverse and strategically important portfolio spanning health, education, and public services. With strong employer demand and increasing regulatory expectations, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a key area of University activity.
Reporting to the Director of Apprenticeships and Employer Engagement, you will provide operational leadership and strategic support to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant and impactful apprenticeship programmes. This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working in line with University policy
Key Responsibilities
You will:
Provide day-to-day leadership and operational management of apprenticeship provision across the University
Lead and develop a small team supporting funding compliance and recruitment
Work closely with academic Schools and Professional Services to deliver an outstanding apprentice and employer experience
Play a central role in implementing and embedding the University’s Apprenticeship Strategy
Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements set by Ofsted, OfS, DfE/DWP and or Skills England
Act as a key University contact for employers, partners and external stakeholders
Lead preparations for external inspections and audits
Oversee performance monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement
Contribute to employer engagement, recruitment activity, and sector development
About You
You will bring:
Significant knowledge of apprenticeship standards, funding rules and policy
Experience working within the apprenticeship or work-based learning environment
Strong understanding of regulatory and quality requirements in higher education or apprenticeships
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
Experience of leading or developing teams and working collaboratively across organisations
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret performance and compliance data
Experience of working with employers and supporting apprenticeship delivery in a higher education context, as well as knowledge of Ofsted inspection, would be advantageous.
