HEAD RETAIL ASSISTANT

We’re looking for a Head Retail Assistant with experience with luxury products to join our team leading a small team of retail assistants selling world-class chocolates and gifts. The ideal candidate will have strong team leadership skills, have proven skill with numerical and clerical accuracy and efficiency, have a natural and elegant approach to customer service, and flair with beautiful product presentation and merchandising. They will feel at home in a luxury product environment and enjoy giving the highest standard of customer service, have excellent product knowledge and embody the brand standard while training and supporting colleagues to do the same.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Serving and selling artisan chocolates and gifts to a world-class standard while leading a team of retail assistants and giving superior customer service
· Counting, rotating, receiving, pricing and stocking goods
· Ensuring that retail displays are attractively displayed, clean and fully stocked
· Training staff according to the operations manual policies and procedures to carry out daily, weekly, monthly duties
· Championing the team culture of kindness, optimism and positivity
· Learning and sharing information about gourmet artisan chocolate with staff and customers
· Maintaining hygiene records and a high level of cleanliness
· Assisting with creating the rota and arranging cover for absences
· Representing the IBHC brand to the highest standard in all aspects of appearance and performance
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
· Retail management or other administrative experience
· Ability to manage and lead a diverse team with kindness and consistency to bring out the best in each person
· Capacity to be a proactive, self-motivated problem-solver and communicator
· Obvious flair with retail display and an eye for aesthetic details
· Passion for creating a warm, genuine and thoughtful customer experience
· 100% accuracy with numeracy and literacy for stocktaking, ordering, administrative tasks and cash handling
· Understanding of and enthusiasm about the Highland Chocolatier brand with ability to represent it accurately
· Skill at natural, open and easy communication to support an environment free of gossip and backbiting
· Capability to be organized, methodical and analytical

HOURS AND WORKING DAYS: Candidates must be able to work weekdays, weekends and flexibly to cover holidays. Applicants must live within daily travelling distance of Grandtully.
