Purpose of the Role
To repair and test electronic equipment in line with functional specifications and engineering drawings to a high standard and within the standard repair/test times defined, in order to meet agreed deadlines for the manufacturing/returns schedule. Ensure high standards of right-first-time performance, repair/test efficiency, and service levels are consistently achieved. Provide fast resolution to any assembly issues identified and maintain good levels of communication with the Repair Team.
We’ll look to you for:
- Responsible for the repair and testing of electronic equipment on time and to the correct specifications and quality standards.
- Provide positive support to team members as required.
- Adhere to UK Health and Safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Comply with ALSTOM Engineering & Services Limited quality standards, factory rules, and HR policies.
- Ensure KPI targets for RFT (Right First Time), efficiency, cost, and service are consistently achieved.
- Contribute positively to continuous improvement activities.
- Meet all deadlines and targets set by the Repair Team Leader.
- Establish good working relationships with the Repair Team and key members of Manufacturing.
- Report Health and Safety issues/near misses to the Repair Team Leader.

- A solid understanding of electronics repair/engineering disciplines ideally educated to HNC level or equivalent, along with health and safety and quality standards.
- Experience in electronics repair, testing, and engineering within a relevant manufacturing environment, using best practice repair/test techniques.
- Time-served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
- Driven, disciplined, logical-thinking, self-motivated, a team player, able to communicate at all levels, and above all, highly innovative in delivering high standards in electronics repair/test work.
