We are seeking an experienced and passionate Bar Manager to lead our team, maintain high operational standards and help drive the continued success of our venue.
The Role:
As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the bar, leading a team of bart staff while ensuring excellent customer experiences, strong financial performance and compliance with all licensing and health & safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all daily bar operations and ensure smooth service.
- Train, motivate and develop bar staff.
- Create staff rotas and manage necessary paperwork effectively.
- Monitor stock levels, stock orders and control wastage.
- Maintain excellent customer service standards and resolve customer issues professionally.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health & safety requirements and company policies.
- Manage cash handling procedures, tills and end-of-day reporting.
- Work closely with senior management on events, promotions and business development opportunities.
- Foster an inclusive, respectful and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Bar Manager, Assistant Manager or similar hospitality leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience with stock control, ordering and budgeting.
- Knowledge of licensing regulations and responsible alcohol service.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Desirable
- Experience managing high volume nightlife venues (Bar and/or Club).
- Knowledge of Brighton's LGBTQ+ nightlife and entertainment scene.
- Personal Licence Holder qualification (not essential).
