Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Ancillary / Cleaner to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for residents and staff alike. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our service users through diligent cleaning and sanitation practices.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of resident rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and corridors in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Use appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to ensure effective sanitation while maintaining safety protocols.
- Assist with waste disposal and linen management to uphold hygiene standards across the facility.
- Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure all areas are maintained consistently.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards identified during cleaning duties to the relevant department promptly.
- Support infection control measures by adhering to protocols for cleaning high-touch surfaces and shared spaces.
- Maintain a positive attitude and work efficiently within a team environment to ensure the smooth operation of daily cleaning routines.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is highly desirable.
- Experience working in healthcare settings, particularly with hospital or nursing home environments, is advantageous.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and hygiene standards relevant to healthcare facilities.
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery and use various cleaning products safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning practices.
