Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and organised Warehouse Worker to join our WEEE recycling operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, handling, sorting, and segregating mixed WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) within our warehouse facility.
This role plays a vital part in supporting our recycling operations by ensuring mixed electrical waste is accurately sorted into the correct categories for processing and recycling in accordance with company procedures and environmental regulations. This is a fully paid position offering a stable opportunity within a growing and environmentally responsible industry.
Responsibilities
- Receive, handle, and sort mixed WEEE materials into the correct recycling categories.
- Identify and separate a wide range of electrical waste, including games consoles, cables, chargers, plugs, power banks, batteries, headphones, consumer electronics, electrical accessories, small household electrical items, adapters, power supplies, and other mixed WEEE.
- Operate a forklift truck safely to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
- Organise and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Prepare materials for further processing and recycling.
- Support stock control and inventory activities where required.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling and forklift operation.
- Comply with company procedures and environmental regulations relating to WEEE recycling.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' warehouse experience.
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence (essential).
- Hardworking, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Physically fit and capable of safely lifting and moving materials.
- Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods.
- Clean UK driving licence.
- Confident driving a Luton van when required.
- DBS check required (or willing to undergo a DBS check).
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a WEEE recycling, waste management, or recycling environment.
- Experience sorting and segregating mixed WEEE materials.
- Experience driving commercial vehicles, including Luton vans.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
