About the Home
We are developing a children's residential home in Derbyshire, supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), emotional trauma and complex needs.
Our ambition isn't simply to open another children's home.
We want to create a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment where children can build positive relationships, develop confidence, feel a genuine sense of belonging and achieve meaningful outcomes.

About the Role
As Registered Manager, you will have the opportunity to shape the service from the beginning.
You will:
- Register with Ofsted as the home's Registered Manager
- Lead the home through registration and operational readiness
- Recruit, lead and develop your own staff team
- Create a positive, therapeutic and child-centred culture
- Ensure compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
- Maintain excellent safeguarding practice
- Oversee care planning, risk management and positive outcomes for children
- Build strong relationships with placing authorities, families and professionals
- Lead quality assurance, governance and continuous improvement
- Prepare for and confidently lead Ofsted inspections
- Provide effective supervision, mentoring and leadership
- Oversee staffing, rotas and operational performance
- Create a culture where children and staff feel listened to, respected and valued
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong management or leadership experience within children's residential care
- Has an excellent understanding of Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Quality Standards
- Has experience supporting children with EBD, trauma and complex needs
- Understands safeguarding and regulatory compliance
- Has experience of Ofsted inspections or registration
- Is confident recruiting, developing and retaining a high-quality team
- Leads with integrity, compassion and professionalism
- Has excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
- Is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for children
- Wants the opportunity to build and shape a new service
We are particularly interested in experienced Children's Home Registered Managers, but we will also consider an exceptional Deputy Manager who is genuinely ready to progress into their first Registered Manager role and can demonstrate the knowledge and leadership required to successfully progress through Ofsted registration.
