Based at King’s Court Council Offices, King’s Lynn, with hybrid working
West Norfolk is embarking on an exciting process of organisational change, in readiness for the establishment of a new unitary authority in May 2028, which will cover the current West Norfolk and Breckland district council areas.
Throughout our Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and wider Transformation journey, the borough council needs to meaningfully inform, inclusively engage, involve and empower our workforce and councillors around the process and changes needed to become the new council.
We are looking for a local government communications and engagement professional to play an instrumental role in ensuring this happens successfully at the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk through planning, delivering and maintaining an ongoing programme of clear and timely internal communications and engagement for staff audiences and councillors.
As our Internal Engagement Lead for Transformation and Change, you will take the lead on coordinating all internal communications and engagement activity related to Transformation and LGR, supporting our organisation and workforce through the process of organisational change, as well as liaising with counterparts elsewhere in Norfolk.
As part of the wider Communications and Engagement Service, you will develop and deliver excellent internal communications and engagement activities, working with and supporting the workstream leads and HR team to maintain effective and inclusive engagement with staff, management, service team and councillors across the council in a timely manner.
In doing so, you will ensure all communications and engagement activities for Transformation and LGR are inclusive, accessible and take account of the diverse needs, experience and communications preferences of our workforce.
This is a temporary fixed-term position until April 2028. This is a politically restricted post under the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009.
