Nursing Home Manager

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading care provider seeking an outstanding Registered Manager to lead a large nursing home in Inverness. This is an opportunity to join a provider that prides itself on delivering first-class clinical care, strong operational standards and an exceptional experience for residents and their families.
We're looking for a proven leader with strong nursing home experience, who understands complex clinical needs, knows how to build and retain exceptional teams, and has a demonstrable track record of maintaining high occupancy while upholding outstanding standards of care.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you'll have full responsibility for the operational, commercial and clinical success of the home. You'll lead from the front, creating a positive culture where residents receive exceptional, person-centred nursing care, colleagues feel valued and supported, and the home continues to thrive within the local market.
Working closely with senior leadership, you'll be responsible for driving occupancy, managing complex clinical needs, developing your management team and ensuring the home consistently delivers an exceptional standard of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team, creating a positive culture where colleagues are supported, developed and empowered to succeed.
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality nursing care, ensuring clinical needs are met safely and effectively across a large resident population.
- Drive occupancy through effective marketing, relationship building and local networking, ensuring the home remains the provider of choice within the area.
- Deliver outstanding, person-centred care that exceeds Care Inspectorate standards.
- Build trusted relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals and community stakeholders.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring strong commercial performance alongside excellent care outcomes.
- Recruit, coach and nurture staff, including nursing and care teams, developing future leaders and creating high levels of engagement and retention.
- Maintain full compliance with Care Inspectorate regulations and lead continuous quality improvement initiatives.
About You
To be successful, you'll be an experienced Registered Manager with a strong blend of clinical credibility, operational excellence and people leadership.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager within a large nursing home setting.
- A valid NMC PIN with strong clinical knowledge relevant to nursing care.
- A proven track record of maintaining high occupancy and strong clinical outcomes.
- A genuine passion for developing and nurturing staff, creating high-performing, engaged and stable teams.
- A history of achieving Good or Outstanding Care Inspectorate ratings.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets and driving profitability.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- NVQ/SVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
