Workshop Mechanic
Due to continued growth, WellGear is seeking a skilled and motivated Workshop Mechanic to join its expanding and dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the company’s development while contributing to a dedicated and close-knit workforce.
Role:
The successful candidate’s role will be to perform maintenance duties on a variety of equipment within WellGear’s Drumoak base. On a day-to-day basis the role will involve maintaining a range of hydraulic equipment, diesel engines, rotating equipment and pumps. The right person must be self-motivated and enjoy working on such equipment.
This includes but is not limited to:
· Servicing and maintenance of equipment
· Overhaul of equipment
· Assembly of new build equipment
· Working with the maintenance management system
· Lead and work with trainee/apprentices
This would suit a candidate with the following qualities:
· Experience of hydraulics is essential
· Prior experience of drilling equipment maintenance (Pumps, rotaries, hydraulic powerpacks, etc)
· Hands on approach with a can-do attitude
· High level of attention to detail
· Takes pride in their work
· Self-motivated, driven and determined.
· Excellent interpersonal skills
Experience:
Time served apprenticeship in a relevant discipline, or extensive experience in a similar role.
The following or equivalent courses are desirable
· BFPA Hydraulics Level 1/2
· Hydraulic Hose Assembly Course
