About The Cove
The Cove is a busy, family-run takeaway, coffee shop and ice cream store located in the heart of Cawsand, Cornwall.
Just 50 metres from the water’s edge, we serve locals, holidaymakers and day visitors from one of Cornwall’s most picturesque seaside villages.
With easy access from Plymouth via the regular passenger ferry and excellent transport links from Torpoint, Millbrook and surrounding areas, this is a unique opportunity to work in a fantastic coastal environment while being part of a friendly and supportive team.
The Role
We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Team Member to join us for the busy season and beyond.
This is a hands-on role within a small, friendly team. You’ll help prepare and serve our popular takeaway menu whilst maintaining excellent food quality, hygiene and customer service standards.
You don’t need to be a qualified chef. Previous experience in hospitality, catering, retail, customer service or a kitchen environment would be advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Hours
- Minimum 21 hours per week
- Friday, Saturday and Sunday
- Typical shifts around 11am–6pm
- Additional hours available during school holidays and busy periods
- Opportunity for extra shifts and responsibility for the right person
Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking menu items
- Operating fryers and kitchen equipment
- Food preparation and stock rotation
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene standards
- Supporting with deliveries and stock control
- End-of-day cleaning and close down
- Working closely with the wider Cove team
