Lancaster Gate Launderette & Café is a family-owned business and a long-standing favourite in the local community. Combining a traditional laundrette with a welcoming neighbourhood café, we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service, quality food and drinks, and ensuring every customer leaves with a smile.
We're looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Barista & Café Assistant to join our team. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. If you enjoy working with people, thrive in a busy café environment and take pride in delivering great food and coffee, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality coffees, teas and other hot beverages using an espresso coffee machine
- Prepare breakfast items, sandwiches, toasties, pastries and other café menu items to a high standard
- Plate and present food ready for service
- Serve food and drinks to customers
- Deliver friendly, professional and attentive customer service
- Take customer orders and operate the till
- Keep the café clean, organised and well-presented throughout the day
- Clear and clean tables promptly
- Wash dishes and maintain a clean kitchen and service area
- Restock food, drinks and café supplies
- Assist with the day-to-day running of the café
- Work efficiently as part of the team during busy breakfast and lunch services
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working in a café
- Confident using an espresso coffee machine
- Experience preparing breakfast items and light café food
- Friendly, approachable and reliable
- Passion for excellent customer service
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to multitask and remain calm during busy periods
- Strong attention to cleanliness and presentation
- A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
- Available to start immediately
Hours, Shifts & Pay
- Part-time
- 2–4 shifts per week (approximately 12–24 hours)
- Shift times: 8:00am – 2:00pm
- Weekend availability preferred
- £12.21–£15.00 per hour, depending on experience
