Children’s Social Worker – Assessment & Intervention
Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting for an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join a busy Assessment and Intervention service. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified social worker with strong experience in safeguarding, child protection, and statutory children’s social care work.
This role is ideal for a practitioner who is confident managing complex caseloads, completing high-quality assessments, and working within a fast-paced frontline children’s services environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Children’s Social Worker in Assessment and Intervention, you will:
- Undertake Child and Family Assessments in line with statutory guidance and safeguarding procedures
- Manage a varied caseload of children in need, child protection, and early intervention cases
- Carry out Section 47 enquiries and contribute to child protection investigations
- Develop and implement care plans, risk assessments, and intervention strategies
- Work closely with multi-agency partners including schools, health professionals, police, and family support services
- Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, strategy meetings, and court proceedings
- Produce clear, timely, and high-quality written reports and case recordings
- Ensure all work is compliant with legislation, statutory guidance, and local safeguarding procedures
- Promote positive outcomes for children, young people, and families
- Identify risk and escalate concerns appropriately to ensure child safety is maintained
About You
To be successful in this Children’s Social Worker role, you will have:
Essential Requirements
- Social Work England registration
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant degree or equivalent qualification
- Experience working within children’s services, preferably in assessment, safeguarding, or intervention teams
- Strong understanding of child protection legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding frameworks
- Experience managing complex and high-risk caseloads
- Ability to complete robust assessments and produce high-quality reports
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-agency environment
