Job Overview
We are seeking a professional CPCS Traffic Marshall to assist in the safe and efficient management of vehicle and pedestrian movement on construction sites. The ideal candidate will ensure safety protocols are adhered to, facilitate smooth traffic flow, and support site operations. This role is essential for maintaining a secure working environment and coordinating traffic in busy construction zones.
Duties
- Direct vehicles and pedestrians around the construction site using clear hand signals or communication devices
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist with the safe movement of lorries, delivery vehicles, and other site traffic
- Maintain a visible presence on-site to prevent unauthorised access and minimise hazards
- Liaise with site managers and other personnel to coordinate vehicle movements efficiently
- Monitor the site environment for potential safety risks related to traffic flow
- Record and report any incidents or unsafe behaviours immediately to supervisors
Requirements
- Previous construction experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and drivers
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is required for clear instructions and safety documentation
- Valid CPCS card is essential; candidates must hold a recognised Traffic Marshall certification
- Driving licence is preferred to facilitate mobility around the site if necessary
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and remain vigilant throughout shifts
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure safety procedures are followed consistently
