Our home in Tollesby is supported accommodation with an aim to provide a high standard of support to eight young people aged 16-18 years old in their own fully furnished flat. Our culture promotes their rights, provides nurture, respect and their safety as well as their well-being and independence being enhanced.
Our home provides young people with the opportunity to develop the necessary skills to live as independently as possible through a recognised independence programme. Alongside this, staff develop positive relationships with young people supporting them in gaining education, training,employment as well as taking the time to experience enjoyment, achievement, and hope.
About You
You will be expected to:
- Fully support the Manager in ensuring the Home operates as efficiently
- Maintain the highest quality of support to our Young People.
- Demonstrate a good awareness of child development, family dynamics and safeguarding.
- Support the team in delivering positive outcomes the Young People.
- Start every day with a fresh outlook

- To deliver support through a trauma focused lens.
Requirements
- You are expected to have completed, be working towards or be willing to work towards NVQ/Diploma Level 3 Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or a similar qualification for working with vulnerable people
- Experience working in a similar setting with children and young people is essential.
- ·Must be at least 22 years of age to work in this setting (4 years above the oldest home member)
- A satisfactory DBS check and references checks as part of our Safer Recruitment process.
- The Right to work in the UK full time without Sponsorship.
- Full UK Driving licence.
The Role
Responsibilities:
- To provide support to Young People support within the Home or the wider community as appropriate.
- To ensure that the safety and welfare of Young People staying at the home
- Promote optimal child development and be alert to signs that may indicate that the child is not meeting key developmental milestones, has been harmed or is at risk of harm.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults
- Safely transport our Young People
- Act as key worker for Young People to ensure identified actions and plans are appropriately implemented.
- Jointly formulate care plans or family placement plans alongside the family, the placing authority and other agencies/professionals involved with the family.
- To be confident in making the correct decisions in the absence of a Manager/Deputy/Senior.
- Follow all Policies and Procedures and work within legislative guidelines and best practice
- Build and maintain high quality and appropriate professional relationships with children to enable positive change to take place
- ·Communicate clearly and sensitively, building effective relationships with young people, families, and other professionals
- Undertake any training and development necessary to meet the duties and responsibilities of the post
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with your colleagues, line managers and the Senior Management Team
- Work flexibly with children’s services and other agencies, to meet the needs of Young People
- Promote a positive workforce culture that is focused on the development and improvement of the home
- Undertake such other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grading and nature of the post.
Hours
- Full time positions available.
- Flexibility of hours to meet professional and personal needs.
- Shifts include days, evenings, weekends and waking night and sleep ins.
