We're looking for a flexible and reliable Facilities Assistant to join our team at Lewes Victoria Hospital.

About the Role
As a Facilities Assistant, you'll support the safe and effective operation of the hospital by carrying out cleaning duties across a variety of departments and buildings. You'll work as part of a facilities team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained for patients, visitors and colleagues.
The role is flexible, and you may be required to provide cover across different areas of the site at short notice. This includes supporting colleagues during periods of annual leave, sickness absence or increased service demand.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain high standards of cleanliness across hospital departments.

Clean clinical, public and staff areas in line with infection prevention procedures.

Follow health & safety and COSHH guidelines

Adapt to changing priorities and support different areas of the site as required.

Occasionally assist with catering support duties.

Work professionally around patients, visitors and colleagues.

Complete routine tasks and follow workplace procedures effectively
What we are looking for
-
Ideally has previous cleaning experience, ideally within healthcare, care, hospitality or a similar environment.

Is comfortable working around patients and vulnerable individuals.

Can work independently and use their own initiative.

Is reliable, adaptable and able to work well as part of a team.

Understands health and safety and infection control requirements

We welcome applications from candidates living locally to Lewes or within a reasonable commuting distance, such as Brighton. Due to occasional transport and access restrictions within Lewes, reliable travel arrangements are essential.
