About McGarry Contracts
McGarry Contracts is an established residential building contractor specialising in high-quality renovations, extensions and bespoke new-build homes across South East London.
We undertake a limited number of projects at any one time, allowing us to maintain a high standard of workmanship, attention to detail and close working relationships with our clients. The Role
We're looking for an experienced carpenter whose primary strength is second fix carpentry, but who is also happy to turn their hand to other aspects of the build when required.
This is a long-term opportunity for someone looking to become part of a professional, reliable team - not someone simply looking for their next short-term contract.
Typical duties will include:
- Second fix carpentry
- Hanging doors and fitting ironmongery
- Skirting, architraves and window boards
- Fitted furniture and bespoke joinery installation
- First fix carpentry, including stud partitions and door linings
- Plasterboarding and dry lining where required
- General carpentry and assisting with other building tasks as projects progress
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has solid residential carpentry experience with an excellent standard of finish.
- Takes genuine pride in producing neat, accurate work.
- Is reliable, hardworking and professional.
- Can work confidently from drawings and solve problems on site.
- Is happy working as part of a small team and helping wherever required.
- Has their own tools and transport.
CSCS card preferred but not essential.
