We are looking for a Workshop Fabrication Assistant, which will involve the following duties:
- Band saw operation: Operating a semi-automatic band saw cutting lengths of steel tube.
- Deburring tube: Removing sharp edges using a rotary deburring machine.
- Drilling and tapping: Some items require drilling, countersinking and tapping.
- Folding: Assisting with or operating our Amada press brake to fold sheet materials to specification.
- Unpacking pallets: When steel orders come in on pallets, it is necessary to check them against the delivery paperwork and unpack ready for processing.
- Deburring flat materials: Flat plate is deburred using our automated deburring machine.
- Organising the work area: Keeping on top of parts being put in the correct areas, tidying, and ensuring rubbish is disposed of.
Experience:
We are looking for a candidate with experience in a workshop environment, capable of setting up machines and working to fine tolerances (less than 1mm). Attention to detail is essential to ensure consistent quality and output. Specific machinery/equipment training will be provided.
Hours of work are typically 07:30 - 16:15 on site in Witham. Holiday entitlement increases with length of employment, up to 33 days.
