Job Role
The HGV Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of goods to customers and company locations across the UK. The role involves operating heavy goods vehicles in compliance with all relevant legislation, conducting vehicle safety checks, ensuring accurate completion of delivery documentation, and providing a professional level of customer service. The driver must adhere to drivers' hours regulations, company policies, and health and safety requirements while maintaining the security and integrity of all loads.
This roles core working days will be Monday - Friday.
Key Duties:
- Deliver and collect goods in a safe and timely manner.
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any defects.
- Ensure compliance with drivers' hours, tachograph, and Working Time Regulations.
- Secure loads and verify delivery documentation.
- Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness.
- Communicate effectively with transport planners, customers, and colleagues.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid UK Category C+E driving licence. - No more than 3 points.
- Any applicants with SP10 / Drink Driving offences will not be considered.
- Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualification.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good understanding of UK drivers' hours regulations and Working Time Directive requirements.
- Ability to complete vehicle safety checks and report defects.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills to complete delivery documentation accurately.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures relating to transport and vehicle operations.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Available for night outs.
Pay: From £17.00 per hour
