We are looking for experienced Mechanical Technicians to support the build, integration, maintenance, and testing of cutting-edge unmanned surface vessels (USVs) and maritime technology platforms.
This is an opportunity to contribute to highly innovative engineering programmes, working alongside a multidisciplinary team delivering real-world capability for defence, security, and commercial customers.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out mechanical assembly, installation, maintenance, and modification activities on autonomous maritime systems
- Supporting vessel build, integration, and commissioning programmes
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults to keep projects moving at pace
- Conducting inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance activities
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Collaborating with electrical, operations, quality, and engineering teams to achieve programme milestones
- Maintaining accurate build records and documentation
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to the highest quality standards
What We're Looking For
- Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Boat Building, or a related discipline
- Strong hands-on mechanical assembly, maintenance, or installation experience
- Experience within marine, defence, aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, or other complex engineering environments
- Ability to work from engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability
- Proven ability to work independently and deliver quality work to demanding schedules
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Desirable Experience
- Boat building or marine vessel construction
- Mechanical integration and commissioning activities
- Prototype, R&D, or new product development programmes
- Working within regulated engineering environments
