Job Title: Veterinary Theatre Technician
Location: Movement Referrals Northwest, Preston Brook, Runcorn, WA7 3GH

About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Theatre Technician to join our specialist surgical support team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in theatre preparation, sterile services, surgical equipment processing, or clinical support who is passionate about maintaining high standards of asepsis and patient care.
We welcome applications not only from veterinary professionals, but also from candidates working in human healthcare, hospitals, operating theatres, or sterilisation/sterile services companies, particularly those with experience in theatre setup, instrument sterilisation, and maintaining sterile environments who are keen to transition into working with animals.
You will play an essential role in ensuring our theatre suite operates efficiently, safely, and to the highest clinical standards.
Theatre & Surgical Duties:
· Daily theatre set-up and shutdown
· Sterilising and maintaining surgical instruments
· Aseptic theatre cleaning & damp dusting
· Preparing surgical kits and donning PPE for the team
· Managing stock: sterile consumables, surgical implants, screws/plates
· Patient prep: clipping, scrubbing, positioning in theatre
· Equipment maintenance: clippers, suction units, cautery
· Assisting during procedures if needed
General Support:
· Support nurses and clinicians
· Maintain clean clinical areas
· Keep consumables stocked and well organised
· Regular ordering of stock
· Fulfil general cleaning and maintenance routines
· Help across departments when required
Essential Criteria:
· Previous experience in sterile services or in a theatre environment - Mandatory
· Experience working with animals
· Ability to handle sensitive data confidentially
· Calm under pressure
· Strong attention to detail
· Team player who can also work independently
· Pride in maintaining cleanliness and high standards
Desirable Criteria:
· Flexible and willing to assist in various departments
· Customer-facing experience
· Veterinary administrative knowledge
