Overview
Bouncing Statistics is seeking a passionate, resilient and dedicated Teacher to join our growing Alternative Provision at Eden House. Applications are welcomed from both Qualified Teachers (QTS) and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an innovative provision supporting young people who have experienced barriers to education. You will deliver engaging, high-quality lessons while building positive relationships that help pupils re-engage with learning, develop confidence and achieve meaningful outcomes.
With a seven to 1 ratio, our teachers have the time and support to build meaningful relationships, deliver highly personalised learning and make a genuine difference every day.
As a Teacher at Eden House, you will play a key role in creating a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment where high expectations are balanced with compassion, consistency and trauma-informed practice.
Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH and SEND.
- Create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every young person can succeed.
- Build positive and professional relationships that promote engagement, confidence and personal development.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies using restorative and trauma-informed approaches.
- Assess, monitor and record pupil progress, adapting teaching where required.
- Develop and review Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) alongside the wider staff team.
- Work collaboratively with the bouncing statistics team and external agencies to maximise pupil outcomes.
- Promote excellent attendance, punctuality and engagement.
- Contribute to pupil reviews, reports and multi-agency meetings where appropriate.
- Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns in line with organisational procedures.
- Record safeguarding and behaviour concerns accurately using CPOMS.
- Contribute to the continued development of the Alternative Provision curriculum.
- Support enrichment activities, educational visits and personal development opportunities.
QualificationsEssential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT) status.
- Applications from Early Career Teachers are welcomed.
- Experience teaching children or young people within an educational setting.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A calm, patient and consistent approach to supporting young people.
- Commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
- Experience working within an Alternative Provision, PRU or SEMH setting.
- Experience supporting pupils at risk of exclusion.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and restorative practice.
- Experience writing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
- Experience using CPOMS.
- Experience adapting learning for pupils with SEND.
