Store Manager – Angling Store

About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Store Manager to lead our busy angling retail store. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about fishing, has strong retail management experience, and enjoys leading a team to deliver outstanding customer service.
As Store Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the store, ensuring high standards are maintained across all areas of the business. You will lead, motivate and develop the team while driving sales, maintaining excellent stock control, and creating a welcoming environment for both experienced anglers and those new to the sport.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the store.
- Lead, motivate and develop the store team to achieve sales and customer service targets.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience by providing expert advice and support.
- Ensure the store is well presented, fully stocked, and merchandised to a high standard.
- Monitor sales performance and implement initiatives to drive growth.
- Manage stock levels, stock ordering, deliveries, and stock accuracy.
- Recruit, train, coach and support team members.
- Manage staff rotas, attendance, performance, and employee development.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Work closely with senior management to achieve business objectives.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager within a retail environment.
- A passion for angling and a good knowledge of fishing equipment and techniques.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- Experience managing KPIs, sales targets and store performance.
- A hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Confidence using retail systems and Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility to work weekends and peak trading periods when required.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within an angling or outdoor retail environment.
- Experience in buying, merchandising or stock planning.
- Knowledge of major angling brands and products.

Pay: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
