Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are noted.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Assist guests with menu selections, upselling items to enhance their dining experience.
- Ensure the dining area is clean, organised, and well-stocked throughout shifts.
- Handle payments efficiently, including cash and card transactions, adhering to cash handling procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of food safety standards and comply with all health regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any issues promptly.
- Provide excellent guest services by addressing questions or concerns courteously and professionally.
Skills
- Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant service is preferred but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tables efficiently.
- Basic maths skills for handling bills and payments accurately.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy environment.
- Time management skills to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- A friendly demeanour with a genuine passion for guest service and hospitality excellence.
- Willingness to learn about menu items, wine pairings, and upselling strategies to enhance guest experiences.
