We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex research, development, and engineering projects within our growing UK operation.
Bornea (UK) Limited is a subsidiary of Canada-based Bornea Dynamics Limited. The successful candidate will collaborate with our Canadian team on a regular basis.
The Role
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering multiple technical projects across defence and advanced technology domains. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, scientists, customers, suppliers, and senior management to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of technical projects.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and resource plans.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and external stakeholders.
- Manage customer relationships and act as the primary project point of contact.
- Prepare progress reports, technical review materials, and management updates.
- Support proposal development, project costing, and business growth activities.
- Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, and schedule risks.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and quality management processes.
- Organize and chair project meetings, reviews, and customer engagements.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience managing technical, engineering, defence, aerospace, or R&D projects.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Experience developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain UK security clearance.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working with UK Ministry of Defence, Dstl, Defence Digital, HMGCC, ESA, or similar organizations.
- Knowledge of systems engineering processes and technology development lifecycles.
- Formal project management qualification (PRINCE2, APM, PMP, or equivalent).
- Experience with research and innovation funding programmes.
- Familiarity with defence procurement and contract delivery.
