About the Role
Birmingham is one of the UK's leading financial and business centres, and at Capital Rural Bank UK Ltd, we help individuals and businesses make confident financial decisions through responsible banking and sound financial management. We believe that strong financial leadership goes beyond reporting numbers—it's about providing strategic insight that drives sustainable growth.
We are looking for a Finance Manager who can take ownership of our finance operations and help shape the financial direction of the business. You won't simply be managing accounts; you'll be providing financial leadership that supports key business decisions and long-term success.
You will work closely with senior leadership, oversee financial planning and reporting, strengthen internal controls, and ensure our financial processes remain accurate, efficient, and fully compliant. You'll be a trusted business partner who transforms financial data into meaningful commercial insights.
Why Work With Us?
Strategic Impact: Your work directly influences business planning, investment decisions, and the financial future of the organisation.
Collaborative Culture: We believe finance should partner with every department. You'll work alongside experienced professionals in an environment where your expertise is valued and your ideas are welcomed.
Modern Finance Environment: We invest in reliable financial systems, digital reporting tools, and process improvements that allow our finance team to focus on analysis rather than administration.
Career Development: We support continuous professional growth through ongoing learning opportunities, leadership development, and exposure to strategic business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership: Lead the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong governance, and efficient financial operations.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and financial models that support business planning and performance management.
Financial Reporting: Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, delivering meaningful insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Compliance & Controls: Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, financial regulations, and company policies.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, optimise working capital, and support effective financial planning across the business.
Business Partnering: Collaborate with department leaders to analyse performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and support strategic decision-making.
Audit & Risk Management: Coordinate internal and external audits while maintaining effective financial controls and risk management processes.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial management, including previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or similar leadership role.
Professional Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent accounting qualification is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, management accounting, financial analysis, Microsoft Excel, and modern accounting or ERP systems.
Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Leadership: Experience leading finance teams, improving financial processes, and building strong relationships across multiple departments.
Mindset: You are analytical, commercially aware, and proactive. You enjoy solving problems, improving processes, and using financial insight to help businesses grow while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.
Pay: £43,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
