Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday : 0800-1700
Our client is a well-established bespoke woodworking manufacturer based in Morley, Leeds, specialising in high-quality custom joinery, furniture and interior fit-out products for commercial and residential projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Woodworking Machinist to join their skilled production team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience operating a range of conventional woodworking machinery who enjoys working on bespoke, high-quality products in a modern manufacturing environment.
The Role
As a Woodworking Machinist, you'll be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of woodworking machinery, producing precision components to a high standard while supporting different areas of the workshop as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate a range of woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
- Operate machinery including spindle moulders, edge banders, panel saws, planers, thicknessers and other conventional woodworking equipment.
- Carry out machine set-ups and adjustments to suit production requirements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, cutting lists and job specifications.
- Manufacture high-quality components to precise dimensions and tolerances.
- Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
- Monitor quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Support colleagues across different production areas when required.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and adhere to all Health & Safety procedures.
- Contribute to efficient production and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience operating woodworking machinery within a joinery, furniture manufacturing or woodworking environment.
- Strong experience using spindle moulders is highly desirable.
- Experience operating edge banders, planers, thicknessers, panel saws or similar woodworking machinery.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
- Good understanding of woodworking materials and machining processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
- A reliable team player with a flexible approach to supporting different areas of production.
