Production Operative Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Production Operative to join our manufacturing team. This role involves working across multiple areas of our production facility to manufacture high-quality components using a variety of machinery, tools, and assembly techniques. The successful candidate will be committed to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity while contributing effectively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine production requirements.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and finish wooden components in accordance with specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure all manufactured components are correctly aligned, levelled, secured, and completed to the required standard.
- Carry out finishing operations, including sanding, trimming, and varnishing where required.
- Repair or replace damaged components and identify quality issues during production.
- Operate machinery and equipment safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Adhere to all company health, safety, and quality policies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team objectives.
Machinery and Equipment Used
The successful candidate will be expected to operate a range of production equipment, including:
- Hand-held power tools
- Pneumatic brad and staple guns
- Routers and trimmers
- Spindle moulding machines
- Table saws
- Hot press equipment
- CNC machinery
Skills and ExperienceEssential
- Experience in a manufacturing, woodworking, or production environment.
- Competent in the use of hand and power tools.
- Bench assembly experience.
- Ability to undertake manual handling and heavy lifting activities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience operating CNC machinery.
- Knowledge of woodworking machinery and production processes.
- Relevant vocational qualifications or certifications.
