Hand Scarfer – Slab Processing Department, Port Talbot.
We have a great opportunity for an experienced and reliable Scarfer here at Runtech, based within the Tata Steel, Port Talbot operation. We pride ourselves in fostering a great working environment, if you’re passionate about doing great things in a fast-moving industry, we’d love to hear from you!
The ideal candidate will be responsible for Hand scarfing operations working within the Hot Mill on site. Safety, reliability and customer satisfaction is key.
The Role
In this role you will be required to: -
· Operate handheld gas and oxygen burning equipment.
· Operate overhead and portal cranes for the transportation of steel slabs within the Slab Processing operations.
· Work safely in accordance with company and client procedures
· Represent Runtech professionally
· Maintain high housekeeping and equipment standards

· Relevant industry experience.

· Demonstrates a positive and motivated attitude.
· Drive to maintain a safe working environment and work in line with Health & Safety Procedures.
· Physically fit
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience with gas and oxy burning equipment
- Full UK driving Licence (max 6 points)
What We Offer
· Salary £35,00.00 to £38,000.00 /year
· Working Hours - 4 on 4 off Days & Nights (6.15am/6:15pm)
· Overtime rates apply after 8 hours and on weekends (Double time paid on Sundays)
