We are recruiting for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join our children’s home team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is caring, dependable and able to stay calm under pressure. You will help provide a safe, supportive and nurturing home for children and young people, giving them the stability, care and encouragement they need to thrive.
As a senior member of the team, you will also help lead shifts, support colleagues in practice and contribute to the high standards expected within the home.
Pay and rewards
- £29,952 basic salary
- £14.40 per hour overtime
- £65 per sleep-in
- £500 annual bonus on your employment anniversary
- £200 bonus if your home achieves Ofsted Good
- £500 bonus if your home achieves Ofsted Outstanding
- 33 days annual leave plus birthday off

The role
You will support children and young people with their daily lives, routines, education, activities and emotional wellbeing. You will help create a home where children feel safe, listened to and supported, while also taking on additional responsibility for shift leadership, role modelling and maintaining high standards of care.
Responsibilities include
- Supporting children with day-to-day care and routines
- Leading shifts and supporting the daily running of the home
- Helping guide and support less experienced team members
- Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
- Supporting behaviour in a calm, trauma-informed way
- Helping children attend school, appointments and activities
- Recording daily events and important information accurately
- Working closely with colleagues and professionals
- Promoting safeguarding at all times
What you will need
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people
- Resilience, empathy and emotional warmth
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Confidence to lead by example during shifts
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins
- Experience in care, ideally in children’s residential care
- Must hold a Diploma Level 3 or 4 In Residential Childcare
- Full manual driving licence required
