The Purpose of the Job:
Preparing and presenting meals to the outlet standard with special emphasis on presentation and economy.
To maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in your working area.
To assist chefs
Main Duties
- Be able and willing to learn in all areas of the kitchen.
- Perform all duties as requested by the Chef de Partie, and to learn from the Chef de Partie all appropriate skills in preparation and cooking presentation according to specifications.
- Always operate in a clean hygienic manner maintaining a good standard of personal hygiene and appearance, being punctual for work and maintaining a pleasant disposition with fellow members of staff.
- Ensure correct and safe use of equipment, within training and legal Constraints.
- Be knowledgeable and comply with health, safety, hygiene, fire and security regulations and procedures of The Horatio Group
- Ensure care and maintenance of all kitchen appliances, equipment and utensils.
- Ensure all work surfaces and kitchen areas are kept clean, particularly at the end of a shift.
- Report all breakage, accidents, repairs and equipment faults to the Head Chef or Second Chef.
Occasional Duties:
- Any other duties as requested by Head Chef/Second Chef/Chef de Partie/ Management
- To attend any training courses as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential: 6 months or more kitchen experience
Fully flexible to work evenings and weekends
Desirable: Relevant NVQ or equivalent qualification
A current and valid Basic Hygiene certificate or equivalent
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
