Tree Surveyor – Hybrid UK-Wide Role

About the role
Beechwood Trees and Landscapes Ltd is looking for an experienced Tree Surveyor to support our growing portfolio of arboricultural surveying and consultancy work.
You will undertake tree inspections across the UK, produce accurate reports and work schedules, and provide practical, risk-based recommendations to clients and our operational teams.
This is a mobile hybrid role combining site surveys, depot attendance and agreed home-based report writing.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake individual tree inspections and large tree-population surveys.
- Assess tree health, condition, structural defects and foreseeable risk.
- Produce clear reports, work schedules and recommendations.
- Prioritise works based on risk, urgency and client requirements.
- Record accurate survey data, photographs and locations.
- Advise clients and contract managers on technical matters.
- Identify TPO, conservation-area and planning considerations.
- Support quotations and planned maintenance programmes.
- Ensure reports meet client, company and industry standards.
Essential requirements
- Experience undertaking tree surveys or arboricultural inspections.
- Professional Tree Inspection qualification or recognised equivalent.
- Relevant arboricultural qualification or strong practical background.
- Good knowledge of tree identification, defects, pests and diseases.
- Strong report-writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a national workload.
- Competence using surveying software, tablets and Microsoft Office.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel and occasionally stay away overnight.
Desirable
- Level 4 or higher arboricultural qualification.
- LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection certification.
- Experience surveying for local authorities or housing providers.
- Knowledge of BS 3998, BS 5837, TPOs and conservation areas.
- Experience with GIS or tree-management software.
- Arboricultural Association membership.
