Primary Purpose: To carry out assembly and component preparation activities in accordance with works orders, technical drawings, assembly instructions and documented processes.
The role requires a high level of flexibility to support a range of secondary production activities, including deburring, Pemsert operation and paint masking, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Carry out inspection of received goods, checking quantities, quality, damage and any non-conformance.
· Accurately pick and prepare consumable stock in accordance with works order requirements and maintain accurate stock records using the Progress system.
· Interpret and work from technical drawings and documented processes to ensure components and assemblies are prepared and completed correctly.
· Carry out assembly and component preparation activities to the required quality and specification.
· Ensure works orders are correctly opened, progressed and closed using the Progress system.
· Carry out quality checks throughout the assembly process and identify and report any defects, damage or non-conformance.
· Follow instructions and guidance from supervisors and senior team members to ensure work is completed efficiently and to the required standard.
· Undertake deburring activities, removing sharp edges, burrs and flashings from laser-cut, punched and manufactured components.
· Set up and operate Pemsert equipment to install self-clinching studs, nuts, standoffs and rivets in accordance with engineering specifications.
· Carry out paint masking activities, accurately applying tapes, plugs, caps and other masking materials to prepare components for painting, coating or plating.
· Use appropriate tools and equipment for assigned tasks, ensuring they are correctly maintained, returned and stored.
· Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area in accordance with company procedures and housekeeping standards.
· Work flexibly across the production environment and support other activities as required.
· Follow all company quality, health and safety and environmental requirements.

Desirable:
· Previous experience in a similar assembly, manufacturing or engineering role.
· Experience working with technical drawings or engineering specifications.
· Experience in assembly, component preparation or other precision engineering activities.
· Experience with deburring, Pemsert operation, masking or similar manufacturing processes.
· Experience using a computerised production or stock management system.
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
