Shift Leader

Are you ready to take the next step in your hospitality career? We’re looking for a Shift Leader to join our team at The Grey Friar, a thriving food and drink-led pub.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in great service and is ready to take on more responsibility. You don’t need to know everything already — training will be provided to help you succeed in the role.
What you’ll be doing
- Opening the pub, preparing for service and ensuring everything is ready for the day ahead.
- Organising staff and allocating duties to keep the shift running smoothly.
- Leading by example and delivering outstanding customer service.
- Supporting the team during busy periods and helping resolve any challenges calmly and professionally.
- Ensuring the pub is closed down correctly, including securing the premises and locking up.
- Supporting the Duty Manager with the day-to-day running of the pub.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in a pub, bar or hospitality environment.
- Someone who is confident, reliable and enjoys working as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A customer-focused mindset and a passion for great service.
- The ability to lead by example and remain calm under pressure.
- A willingness to learn and develop.

Pay: £13.81 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
