Our pre-school provision is looking to appoint an experienced childcare practitioner and a room leader.
Main Responsibilities and duty of care
- Take responsibility for ensuring policies and procedures are in place to meet the welfare requirements of the EYFS Statutory Framework.
- To ensure the Pre-School environment meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds and stages of development;
- Develop a stimulating and purposeful learning environment for all children to enjoy.
- To raise standards and introduce new initiatives.
- To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring Pre-School policies and procedures are observed at all times.
- Liaise with and support parents/carers and other family members; informing them of their children’s progress and encouraging them to be involved in their children’s learning
- The preparation and completion of activities to suit the child’s stage of development
- To supervise and assist at mealtimes, and ensure that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing
Policies
- To ensure all policies are upheld .
- To maintain a record of achievement file on your key children, for parents/carers;
- To be flexible within working practices of the Pre-School. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs with the Pre-School, e.g. Preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.;
- Look upon the Pre-School as a “whole” where your help can be most utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of children;
- To ensure that all records are kept confidential relating to data protection of the children, their families and members of staff.
Finally, the suitable candidate...
- Must be trained in safeguarding children and child protection (candidate will also be required to meet our guidelines for safer recruitment, including a DBS check)
- Level 3 qualification is ESSENTIAL .
