Little Saints Pre-School is looking to recruit a Playroom Practitioner with a
minimum of 2 years’ experience and a Level 3 Qualification in Early Years.
This position is a temporary post which will commence on 01.09.26 subject to probationary period.
The ideal applicant needs to be self-motivated to meet the needs of the
Pre-School children, who are aged between 2 and 5 years old. You will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for our young children to learn and grow. You will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children, and fostering their social, emotional and cognitive development.

All statutory training needs to be current.
Role Requirements:
· Safeguarding Level 3 or above
· First Aid - Paediatric
· Enhanced DBS Clearance
· Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2 (preferred)
· Good knowledge and working practice of the EYFS and how it relates to Pre-School settings
· To be prepared to assist with planning Pre-School sessions
Responsibilities
· Drive the implementation of an engaging curriculum that promotes learning through play.
· Manage daily routines and create a structured environment for children.
· Provide a safe and secure environment for children to explore and learn.
· Conduct observations and assessments to track each child’s progress.
· Collaborate with parents to support their child’s development and address and concerns.
· Communicate effectively with colleagues and parents.
· Foster positive relationships with children, promoting their self-esteem and independence.
· Lead group activities, including carpet time, storytelling and arts and crafts.
· Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the Preschool setting.
Skills
· Early childhood education: possess a solid understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
· Childcare experience: previous experience working with young children in a Preschool setting.
· Excellent English communication skills, ability to communicate with children, parents and colleagues.
· Leadership skills: Ability to take initiative, make decisions and lead activities.
Hours of work: 8:30am to 3:30pm Two days per week to be confirmed
