Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a refrigerated vehicle to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service. The position is paid and requires a valid UK driving licence with relevant experience in commercial driving.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry and 3.5 tonne van, ensuring adherence to all road safety regulations.
- Load and unload goods with care, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Plan delivery routes effectively to meet schedules and optimise fuel efficiency.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon completion of deliveries.
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members regarding delivery times and any unforeseen delays.
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Skills
- Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
- Proven experience in commercial driving.
- Delivery driver experience demonstrating punctuality and reliability.
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws within the UK.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading and unloading goods safely.
- Strong organisational skills to manage routes efficiently and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members professionally.
