Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal plaster adhesion.
- Mix plaster materials accurately according to project specifications and safety guidelines.
- Apply plaster using hand tools such as trowels, hawks, and floats to achieve smooth, even finishes on walls and ceilings.
- Utilize power tools like mixers and grinders to facilitate efficient application and surface preparation.
- Collaborate with bricklayers, masons, carpenters, roofers, and welders to coordinate tasks and ensure seamless project progress.
- Repair damaged surfaces or previous plasterwork to restore structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling tools and materials in various working environments.
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools essential for plastering tasks such as trowels, floats, and scrapers.
- Experience in bricklaying and masonry techniques that complement plastering work on different surfaces.
- Knowledge of power tools including mixers, grinders, and drills used in surface preparation and finishing.
- Strong carpentry skills for framing or installing support structures when needed.
- Understanding of roofing principles relevant to exterior plaster applications on building facades.
- Ability to operate welding equipment for specialized repair or reinforcement tasks when required.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on achieving high-quality finishes in a timely manner.
