Overview
Experienced Finance assistant required for Travel Management Company (TMC).
Previous background in a travel company would be a significant advantage.
Your attention to detail and proactive approach will be vital in managing our finance processes, to streamline financial workflows and ensure accuracy at all times.
Duties
- Weekly BSP reconciliation.
- ABTA and ATOL reporting quarterly and annually, ensuring absolute accuracy on all documentation and licence renewals.
- Meeting deadlines for reports.
- Preparing invoices for commissions, and following up with hotels and vendors to ensure timely payment.
- Checking accounts payable transactions with precision, ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers.
- Monitoring and updating live currency exchange rates, to facilitate global bookings.
- Reconciliation of multiple company credit cards, including Virtual Credit Cards, ensuring all transactions are accurately matched every month.
- Managing data entry tasks related to financial records, invoices, and expense reports using accounting software such as Sage.
- Supporting the company accountant by preparing reports, and assisting with month-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Maintaining accurate VAT records on both purchases and sales.
- Assisting with expense management for Directors and other team members.
- Liaising with our external Accountants on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Supporting the Directors with general reports on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.
- Supporting the wider team with reports for large group events, tracking spend and managing any queries.
- Maintaining organized records of all financial transactions, supporting audit readiness and compliance efforts.
- Collaborating with Reservations team members, and external vendors to resolve billing issues promptly and efficiently.
Requirements
- Suitable finance qualifications required.
- High-level Excel skills
- Previous use of a travel "back office" system, such as Dolphin highly advantageous.
- Proven experience working with accounting software such as Sage.
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of accounts processes and finance best practices.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Able to work independently, on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly tasks.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively and professionally.
- Prior experience in travel finance functions (e.g BSP)
- Ability to work directly under the Finance manager day to day, and external Accountants on a monthly/quarterly basis.
- Comfortable in a small-team environment, for an SME company.

The role is Monday-Friday. Salary dependant on experience, starting level listed.
Pay: From £32,000.00 per year
