Norton’s Gardens are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Gardening Assistant to join our professional garden maintenance team.
We maintain a range of beautiful private gardens and larger estates across Surrey and West Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and would like to develop a long-term career in horticulture.
The role will include:
- Lawn mowing and edging
- Weeding and border maintenance
- Hedge cutting and shrub pruning
- Planting and mulching
- Leaf clearance and seasonal garden work
- Assisting experienced gardeners with larger projects
- Keeping tools, machinery and work areas clean and organised
Previous gardening experience would be helpful but is not essential, as training can be provided. More importantly, we are looking for someone who is hardworking, dependable, physically fit and takes pride in producing a high standard of work.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a genuine interest in gardening and horticulture
- Be punctual, reliable and willing to learn
- Work well as part of a team
- Be comfortable working outdoors throughout the year
- Have a professional and respectful manner around clients
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Experience using garden machinery would be beneficial
