Location: Newbury, Berkshire (On-Site)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
What the Role Entails
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our infrastructure team based in Newbury. In this role, you will take ownership of our cloud platforms, modernise existing deployment pipelines, and ensure system reliability as our SaaS offerings grow.
Rather than just resolving tickets, you will collaborate directly with our development teams to embed Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, improve platform security, and streamline release cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, scale, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS/Azure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins) to support automated testing and deployment.
- Monitor system health, performance, and uptime using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar tools.
- Drive containerisation and orchestration strategies using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS).
- Implement cloud security best practices, cost-optimization initiatives, and automated disaster recovery processes.
- Mentor mid-level engineers and serve as an escalation point for infrastructure or deployment incidents.
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in a dedicated DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or SRE role.
- Strong production experience with a major cloud provider (AWS or Azure preferred).
- Advanced proficiency with Terraform for managing cloud infrastructure.
- Practical experience managing containerised workloads using Kubernetes.
- Solid scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go for automation.
- Good understanding of networking, VPNs, DNS, and cloud security frameworks.
- Full right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer sponsorship for this position).
