Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team and work within the breakfast, afterschool and holiday club. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for children during organised play sessions. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, supporting children's development through fun and educational activities. The Play Worker will be instrumental in fostering positive social interactions and ensuring the wellbeing of all children under their supervision.
Duties
- Organise and facilitate a variety of play activities suitable for different age groups
- Supervise children during playtime, ensuring their safety at all times
- Support children's social and emotional development through engaging interactions
- Assist with the setup and tidying of play areas before and after activities
- Encourage inclusive participation among children, promoting teamwork and respect
- Maintain clear communication with parents, carers, and colleagues regarding children's needs and behaviour
- Assist with organising special events or themed activities as required
Requirements
- Experience in childcare, teaching, nannying, or similar roles is desirable
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Passionate about working with children and supporting their development
- Organised, patient, and able to handle multiple responsibilities calmly
- Willingness to undertake relevant training or safeguarding courses as required
